Corn, OKLA. — Big plays cost the Corn Bible Academy Crusaders dearly in their October 23 game at Mountain View/Gotebo. The Tigers scored six touchdowns of 20 yards or more in defeating the Crusaders 58-28. The Crusaders gave up 349 yards rushing and touchdown runs of 45 and 62 yards to Cole Clark and 55 and 59 yards to Sheldon Flood. Mountain View/Gotebo held the Crusaders to 63 yards rushing.
CBA freshman Scott Dick threw four touchdown passes and passed for 288 yards. Dick was 19-41 with two interceptions. Taylor Ensz, Jared Boese, Jacob Friesen, and Aaron Slagell all caught touchdown passes. Boese was the leading receiver with six catches for 129 yards.
Friesen led the CBA defense with 14 tackles and three tackles for loss while Ensz had 13 tackles (five for loss) and three fumble recoveries.
With the loss, CBA’s record falls to 5-3 (4-3 in District C-2). The Crusaders will try to get back on the winning track at home on Friday, October 30, against Destiny Christian. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Crusader Park.
