CORN, Okla.–The Corn Bible Academy Crusader basketball team had one thing on their mind on Saturday evening, February 28–the chance to redeem themselves and earn a spot at the state tournament. The unranked team had to get past #7 ranked Granite Panthers in order to reach that goal, and the Crusaders did not disappoint their fans, defeating the Panthers 83-70 to win the Area Tournament Consolation Championship.
In the history of the small Christian school in western Oklahoma, the basketball program has never seen the court at an OSSAA state tournament, making this win a very sweet victory for Coach Terry Fellenstein’s team. The unranked Crusaders join seven ranked teams March 5-7 for the OSSAA Class B State Tournament at the Fairgrounds Arena in Oklahoma City and will play the Garber Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5 in the first round.
Elite Eight:
