CORN, Okla.–On Friday, February 27, the Corn Bible Academy Crusaders battled the Binger-Oney Bobcats in the second round of the Area Tournament held at the Great Plains Coliseum in Lawton. The Crusaders went into the game with a comfortable win the night before against Chattanooga, and the team’s spirits were high.
The Crusaders’ first game of the 2008-2009 season was against Binger-Oney, and they had fallen short, 40-46, so the team was anxious for a second chance to play the Bobcats. Despite a very tight and low-scoring first half and a half-time score tied at 23-23, Corn Bible Academy prevailed and won the game, 60-51.
Although unranked, CBA has proven that they are a team to watch after beating #20 ranked Oklahoma Christian Academy and #17 ranked Chattanooga. The team plays in the consolation championship game on Saturday, February28, at 8:00 p.m. at the Great Plains Coliseum in Lawton for a chance to compete in the State Tournament that takes place March 5-7.
