Crusaders Win District Opener

Corn, OKLA.–The Corn Bible Academy Crusaders won their District C-2 opener 44-20 over the Victory Life Eagles on Friday night at Crusader Park. Defense again sparked the Crusaders, especially in the first half where CBA held Victory Life to 69 total yards of offense.

The Crusaders scored first on an eight yard run by Andrew Troyer. Pate Gossen hit Spencer Huiatt for two short touchdown passes in the second quarter to help CBA lead 24-0 at halftime. Huiatt, Aaron Slagell, and Trevor Harms all scored on short runs in the third quarter as CBA went up 44-0. Troyer led CBA’s rushing attack with 55 yards on 11 carries. Taylor Ensz caught three passes for 54 yards and Gossen was 9-19 with one interception for 106 yards and two touchdowns. CBA’s defense was led by defensive ends Taylor Ensz with nine tackles and Jared Boese with eight tackles.

CBA is on the road this coming Friday, traveling to Cement.  The next home game is Friday, September 25, against Tipton. Homecoming kickoff is 7:30 p.m. with the coronation immediately following the ballgame.
