Junior High Crusaders Fall to Pirates

Corn, OKLA. — The Corn Bible Academy junior high Crusader football team traveled to Cyril on Monday, October 12, and lost a hard fought game to the Pirates, 42-28.

The Crusaders rallied from a 14-8 halftime deficit to trail 28-22 with five minutes remaining in the game. Cyril scored on two long touchdown runs to go ahead 42-22. Jay Penner’s 37 yard touchdown run brought the final score to 42-28. Trevor Harms scored three touchdowns for the Crusaders on a ten yard run, a 65 yard kickoff return and a 63 yard pass from Scott Dick. Penner added two conversion catches from Dick. Andrew Troyer led CBA in rushing with 69 yards on eight carries, while Dick completed five out of 17 pass attempts for 102 yards.

On defense, Troyer led the Crusaders with 16 tackles while Harms and Travis Ensz had eight each. The loss evens CBA’s record at 3-3 with an away game against Cement on October 19.
