Wind Has No Effect on Lady Crusaders

Corn, OKLA. — As the wind howled across the dirt playing field on Tuesday afternoon, the Lady Crusaders of Corn Bible Academy blew away the Mountain View/Gotebo Tigers in an afternoon double header at the Crusader Complex.

After a rough start to the season, the Crusader softball team is coming into their own, playing together, hitting well, and dominating other local teams midway through the schedule.  Most high school girls are consumed with finishing out the school year with thoughts of prom, ACT testing, and the hunt for summer jobs. But in many western Oklahoma rural schools, you can find a core group of girls who dedicate themselves to practices after school, ballgames that go into the evening hours, and weekend tournaments in a short five week season that plays havoc on end of school calendars already full with events.  Such is the case at CBA this year, with a small ten member team of girls who are not quite ready to give up athletics for the 2009-2010 school year.

Against the Tigers, Corn Bible Academy scored 14 runs in just three short innings to shut out Mountain View/Gotebo in the first game of the afternoon, and then finished off the day run-ruling the competition, 21-6.
