CORN, Okla.–The public is cordially invited to the rural town of Corn, Okla. for Corn Bible Academy’s 45th Annual German Feast and Auction on Saturday, February 7, 2009.
The Annual German Feast will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and again from 5 to 7 p.m. The meal will feature delicious verenika (cottage cheese dumplings) smothered in a ham onion gravy, zwiebach, smoked sausage, grilled sausage, cherry mousse, and New Year’s cookies (fried raisin fritters). For smaller appetites, a smoked sausage sandwich meal will be available.
You will not want to miss the “Auction” which will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. on the same day. Supporters of Corn Bible Academy have donated items such as handmade quilts, afghans, tools, furniture, farm supplies and many other items too numerous to mention. Homemade food goods will also be available. The silent auction will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Corn is located thirteen miles south of Weatherford on State Highway 54. Come and enjoy the small town hospitality with lots of great food and interesting things to purchase at our auction.
Each year the students and supporters celebrate with a German Feast and Auction to help continue financing the operation of the school. Tickets are available by calling the school at 580-343-2262 or you may purchase them at the door the day of the event. Advance tickets gives you the privilege of not having to stand in line for the meal.
Come and enjoy the entire day with us at Corn, Okla. We have a very interesting historical museum in the town of Corn that you may want to visit during your stay. The museum will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. We at Corn Bible Academy and as a Town would consider it a privilege to have you come and join us for the day or part of the day, February 7, 2009.
Corn Bible Academy has enjoyed a rich heritage that goes back 105 years. The school celebrated this rich heritage over Labor Day Weekend of 2003.
