Crusader Defense Sparks 46-0 Win Over Grandfield

CORN, Okla. — The Corn Bible Academy Crusader defense came up big Thursday, October 15, with a 46-0 win over Grandfield. Behind the outstanding play of Taylor Ensz, Jared Boese, and Ben Sawatzky, the Crusaders held the Bearcats to -30 total yards. The Crusader defense had ten tackles for loss in CBA’s second straight shut-out. Ensz also contributed a safety on Grandfield’s first play from scrimmage when he tackled the ball carrier in the end zone.

On offense, the Crusaders were led by freshman Andrew Troyer who gained 158 yards on 13 carries. Troyer ran for a 47 yard touchdown early in the second quarter. Ensz caught touchdown passes of seven and 16 yards from freshman Scott Dick while Boese, Aaron Slagell, and Stephen Mawu scored touchdowns on runs.

The win brings CBA’s record to 5-2 (4-2 in District C-2) with an important game at Mountain View/Gotebo on Friday, October 23. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
