Corn, OKLA. — The Corn Bible Academy Crusaders beat the Duke Tigers 46-0 Friday night at Crusader Park. The win brings the Crusaders’ record to 4-2 (3-2 in District C-2).
Pate Gossen led the offensive explosion, hitting 9 of11 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Gossen also scored on a 13 yard run. Taylor Ensz scored two touchdowns, one on a 14 yard pass and the other on a six yard run. Aaron Slagell also scored two touchdowns on a ten yard run and a 47 yard interception return. Jared Boese scored a touchdown on a three yard pass from Gossen. Boese also had a pair of two point conversions, while Slagell, Trevor Harms, and Chandler Corn also scored conversions.
The Crusader defense played well in shutting out the Tigers, holding Duke to 120 total yards. Ben Sawatzky led CBA with nine tackles, including three for loss, while Ensz and Jacob Friesen each had two tackles for loss.
The Crusaders travel to Grandfield on Thursday, October 15, for an important District C-2 match-up with the Bearcats. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
